Why?

Why do we have three branches of government? Well, the simple answer is that it prevents one person or group from gaining too much control and power within the nation. But it also allows several different people from all across the United States to have input and power within the government. It allows people of different ages, backgrounds, and ideologies to have a part in the decisions and safety of our nation. It keeps our country from becoming a “hive mind” following one specific “type” of leader. But most importantly, the encompassing factor is that it manages the system of checks and balances which prevents lawmakers, the court system, or an overall leader from becoming overly powerful within the country. Separating these roles and allowing them to operate together in harmony prevents one group or person from taking over the United States.
